Founded by Sriyantha Sampath, Destinova Journeys was built on a single principle: every traveller deserves to experience Sri Lanka as it truly is, unhurried, unfiltered, and extraordinary.
A selection of words from those who've travelled with us.
"Destinova understood immediately that we didn't want a tour, we wanted to disappear into Sri Lanka. They delivered something beyond what we imagined possible."
"The Sri Lanka–Maldives combination was seamlessly handled. Every transfer, every meal, every surprise was perfectly timed. Truly a white-glove experience."
"As a travel advisor, I needed a DMC I could trust with my most discerning clients. Destinova is that partner, professional, responsive, and genuinely exceptional."
We handle the destination. You protect the client relationship. White-label ready, response in under 2 hours, and an operations standard that reflects your reputation.
From first brief to post-trip feedback, our five-step workflow gives you calm, clarity, and confidence, at every stage of the journey.
Dispatches, guides, and travel philosophy from Destinova's team.
The perfect week, ancient kingdoms by morning, misty hill country by evening, and a south coast close that feels like a reward earned.
Dispatches, guides, and travel philosophy from Destinova's team on the ground.
How meaningful travel supports communities, conservation, and the places that make extraordinary journeys possible.
The properties that define understated excellence on the island, from colonial bungalows to south coast retreats.
Six questions every family should ask before selecting a resort. Sri Lanka and the Maldives, compared honestly.
Beyond the itinerary, the ancient cities, living traditions, and off-path encounters most travellers never find.
From private beach villas on the south coast to mist-wrapped tea bungalows in the highlands, the properties that do romance beautifully.
From leopard country to tea-covered highlands, the ten resorts that make Sri Lanka one of the world's great family destinations.
Ready to turn a read into a reality?
Sri Lanka and the Maldives are not simply beautiful destinations. They are living ecosystems, ancient cultures, and fragile environments that deserve more than extractive tourism. The way a journey is designed, where you stay, how you move, who benefits from your presence, determines whether travel is a force for good or a force for erosion.
Every itinerary Destinova designs is held to a standard that goes beyond luxury. These are our commitments.
We work with property collections whose sustainability programmes are genuine, verifiable, and ongoing, not marketing language.
Sri Lanka's benchmark for eco-certified hospitality. Jetwing Vil Uyana, built on reclaimed paddy land restored into a functioning wetland sanctuary, is the clearest expression of their philosophy: that luxury and ecological restoration are not in conflict.
Operators of Wild Coast Tented Lodge (solar, zero-waste, wildlife corridor at Yala), Ceylon Tea Trails (estate produce, carbon-sensitive), and Cape Weligama. Each property is designed around its natural environment rather than imposed upon it.
A Sri Lankan-owned collection with deep community employment roots and active conservation partnerships at Ulagalla (ancient paddy landscape) and Yala. Small-scale by design, significant in local impact.
Off-grid eco-luxury in the hill country, rainwater harvesting, solar power, organic kitchen garden. One of the few properties in Sri Lanka that is genuinely self-sufficient in energy and water.
Industry-leading zero-waste operations at Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani. The Soneva Foundation funds reef restoration, community education and renewable energy projects. On-site glass studio recycles all glass waste into art and tableware.
Plastic-free certified. Active coral restoration, sea turtle monitoring, and manta ray research partnership. Their resident marine biologist runs weekly conservation briefings and guest participation sessions.
Home to the Maldives' most active marine discovery centre and an official Manta Trust research partnership. Guests can assist with coral propagation in the on-site nursery and join manta identification surveys.
No shoes, no news, no plastic, a philosophy embedded in every aspect of operations. Active reef monitoring programme, regular ocean clean-ups, and some of the most comprehensive coral restoration work in the north Malé atoll.
"When you travel with Destinova, you are not just a guest. You are a participant in something larger, a model of tourism that respects people, protects environments, and proves that doing it right and doing it beautifully are not just compatible. They are inseparable."
Encounters that cannot be templated, replicated, or rushed. Each one designed around what the destination does best, and what a journey should feel like when it is truly personal.
From ancient kingdoms and misty highlands to sun-drenched coastlines and living culinary traditions — each encounter curated for those who travel to feel, not just see.
In the Indian Ocean, the experience is the ocean itself. Above the surface and far below it, shaped by one of the planet's most extraordinary marine environments.
No experience on this page is fixed. Timing, duration, group size, and setting are adapted to you. Tell us what interests you, and we will design something that fits no one else's journey but yours.
White-label itineraries, under-2-hour turnaround, and on-ground concierge execution that reflects your reputation.
Send us a brief and receive your first curated itinerary options within 2 hours.
"One itinerary. Multiple worlds. Minimal flights. Maximum variety."
UNESCO sites visited at dawn with private guides and expert storytelling.
Leopards at Wilpattu, elephants at Minneriya, with experienced naturalists.
Tea estates, rail journeys and colonial stays in the cool misty highlands.
Private dining, chef-led experiences and warm palm-lined bays with fresh seafood.
Ceylon Tea Trails, colonial bungalows, and narrow-gauge train journeys through emerald valleys, the soul of the island at elevation.
No long-haul connections between continents of experience. Ancient ruins at dawn, leopards by afternoon, cool-climate tea estates by evening, and a coastline that closes the day in silence. Sri Lanka does in ten days what most destinations take a lifetime to offer.
From colonial planter's bungalows perched above the clouds to intimate tented safari camps overlooking waterholes, every property is chosen for character, service, and sense of place.
Each itinerary is a starting point, fully customisable to your pace, interests, and travel dates.
Intimate properties, private beaches, and unhurried days, where comfort meets raw, authentic nature.
A curated selection of Sri Lanka's most extraordinary moments, perfectly sequenced for the discerning traveller.
Sacred temples, ancient kingdoms and living traditions. A journey through the island's extraordinary cultural soul.
Ancient citadels, elephant gatherings and leopards in the wild. Fourteen days across Sri Lanka's most extraordinary landscapes.
A honeymoon designed around you alone. Cultural depth, wildlife, highland seclusion and coast days where time dissolves entirely.
No group tours. No fixed itineraries. We design around you.
"The perfect exhale. Private islands, overwater villas, and seaplane horizons that feel cinematic."
26 atolls, ~1,192 coral islands, each with its own character. We match you to the perfect retreat.
Glass floors, private decks, butler service, and the Indian Ocean as your backyard.
World-class ocean spas, sunrise yoga platforms, and curated wellness programmes.
Manta ray diving, bioluminescent night swims, whale-shark encounters.
Crystal lagoons, powder-white sandbars, and a horizon so clean it feels imagined. The Maldives is not a destination, it's a state of being.
Twenty-six atolls. Over a thousand coral islands. And an ocean so impossibly clear it barely seems real. The Maldives is not simply a destination — it is a state of being. A place where the only agenda is the tide, and the only measure of a perfect day is how deeply you exhaled.
Overwater bungalows, beach pool villas, and private island retreats, every property is handpicked for its seclusion, service standard, and how it makes you feel the moment you arrive.
Private overwater villa, sunset dolphin cruise, couples' spa ritual, and a private sandbank dinner under the stars.
Spacious family pool villas, dedicated kids' programming, snorkelling reefs, and sun-soaked days of pure ease.
Ocean-facing spa suites, sunrise yoga, curated nutrition, and the gentlest possible pace of life.
Culture, wildlife, and history, then total serenity. The definitive two-destination journey for discerning travellers.
Destinova Journeys was founded on one belief: that the most meaningful travel experiences come not from ticking landmarks, but from truly inhabiting a place, its people, its rhythms, its soul.
Our founder, Sriyantha Sampath, has spent over 25 years crafting journeys across Sri Lanka and the Maldives for some of the world's most discerning travellers. Every itinerary is drawn from lived experience, not a catalogue.
We don't arrange tours. We design moments that become memories you carry for a lifetime.
Every journey supports local communities, artisans, and small businesses. Travel that leaves places better than it found them.
We go beyond the brochure. Every experience is chosen for authenticity, access, and meaning, not just aesthetics.
Boutique properties, private routing, and discreet service, for those who want to feel at home anywhere in the world.
Calm delivery, fast fixes, and proactive care. The mark of a partner you can trust completely.
Every journey starts with a conversation. Tell us what you dream of, we'll do the rest.
Tell us about your dream trip. We'll have curated options ready within 24 hours.

These Terms and Conditions govern the booking and provision of travel services by Destinova Journeys (Private) Limited. By engaging our services or confirming a booking, you agree to be bound by the terms set out below. Please read them carefully.
"Company", "we", "us", or "our" refers to Destinova Journeys (Private) Limited, registered in Sri Lanka.
"Client", "you", or "your" refers to any individual or entity that engages the Company's services.
"Journey" refers to any travel itinerary, tour, or service designed, arranged, or provided by the Company.
"Booking Confirmation" means the written confirmation issued by the Company upon receipt of a deposit.
A booking is confirmed once the Company has received the required deposit payment and has issued a written Booking Confirmation. Verbal agreements, email enquiries, and provisional holds do not constitute a binding booking.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that all personal information provided at the time of booking, including passport details, travel dates, and special requirements, is accurate and complete. The Company accepts no liability for losses arising from inaccurate information provided by the Client.
All itineraries are subject to availability and the Company reserves the right to substitute accommodation or services of equivalent or higher standard where circumstances require.
Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total journey cost is required to confirm a booking. The exact deposit amount will be stated in the Booking Confirmation.
Balance Payment: The full balance is due no later than 60 days prior to the journey's commencement date. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
Late Payment: Failure to make balance payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking, with the deposit forfeited and cancellation charges applied as set out in Section 5.
Prices: All prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change prior to booking confirmation. Once confirmed in writing, the agreed price is binding on both parties, subject only to currency fluctuation clauses where applicable.
Currency and Banking Charges: The Client is responsible for any bank transfer fees, currency conversion charges, or payment processing fees associated with settling their invoice.
Each Booking Confirmation will specify in detail what is included in and excluded from the quoted price. Unless specifically stated, the following are typically excluded: international airfares, visa fees, travel insurance, personal expenditure (minibar, laundry, tips), optional activities not listed in the itinerary, and costs arising from circumstances outside the Company's control.
Cancellations must be made in writing to the Company. The following cancellation charges apply to the total journey cost:
Certain bespoke components (exclusive villa rentals, private yacht charters, specially commissioned experiences) may carry stricter cancellation terms that will be communicated at the time of quotation.
We strongly recommend all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellation costs.
Requests to amend a confirmed booking (change of dates, accommodation, services) will be accommodated where possible. Amendment fees of USD 50 per change apply for any modifications made after Booking Confirmation, in addition to any costs charged by suppliers. Amendments requested within 30 days of departure may not be possible and may be treated as partial cancellation.
The Company reserves the right to make reasonable changes to an itinerary where circumstances require (weather, natural events, supplier issues). Significant changes will be communicated promptly. If the Company is required to cancel a journey due to reasons within its control, a full refund of monies paid to the Company (excluding non-recoverable third-party costs) will be offered. The Company is not liable for travel costs such as international airfares or pre-arranged accommodation outside the confirmed itinerary.
The Company shall not be liable for any failure to perform its obligations arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government actions, epidemic or pandemic declarations, airport closures, or other extraordinary events. In such circumstances, the Company will use best endeavours to minimise disruption and will offer postponement or credit where commercially possible, but cannot guarantee refunds for non-recoverable third-party costs.
The Company strongly recommends that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to departure, covering: trip cancellation and curtailment, medical emergencies and evacuation, loss of baggage and personal effects, and personal liability. The Company does not arrange travel insurance on behalf of clients unless specifically requested, and accepts no liability for losses that would otherwise have been covered by adequate insurance.
It is the Client's sole responsibility to ensure they hold valid travel documents, including passports with at least six months' validity from the return date, and any required visas or entry permits. The Company may provide general guidance on visa requirements but does not accept responsibility for any Client being refused entry, or for costs arising from failure to obtain necessary documentation. The Client is also responsible for complying with health and vaccination requirements of the destination country.
The Company acts as an agent in arranging accommodation, transportation, activities, and other services provided by independent third-party suppliers. The Company is not responsible for any act, omission, or default on the part of these third-party service providers, or for any injury, damage, loss, delay, or irregularity that may occur.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company's total liability to any Client shall not exceed the total amount paid by that Client for the journey in question. The Company shall not be liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses.
The Client is responsible for the conduct of all members of their travelling party. The Company and its suppliers reserve the right to refuse service or remove any Client from a journey whose behaviour is deemed disruptive, dangerous, or unlawful. In such cases, no refund shall be due and the Client shall bear all additional costs.
Where travel involves activities with inherent risks (wildlife safaris, water sports, hiking), the Client participates at their own risk and acknowledges that such activities may require physical fitness and carry unavoidable hazards.
If the Client has a complaint during their journey, they should notify the Company's on-ground representative or emergency contact immediately so that corrective action may be taken in a timely manner. Complaints raised only after the journey's conclusion, without prior in-destination notification, may limit the Company's ability to investigate and resolve the matter. Formal complaints should be submitted in writing within 28 days of the journey's end.
All content on the Destinova Journeys website, including itineraries, photography, text, and design, is the property of the Company or its licensors and is protected by copyright. No content may be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
